By all means highlight people who you feel have not been responsible or have not acted as they should but the board is not here for personal slanging matches.

I agree totally I like boards like this that encourage people- I was just letting of steam with my original posting- just a good old moan. Most filmmakers are such nice people, and maybe I have just got Ashley the wrong way- but he has been sending me rude emails when I was just trying to help- in giving him the opportunity to work on a film I will be taking to festivals. You don?t get many films up north, and I was glad to meet a seemingly like minded filmmaker on the list who lives close. There always will be people who are doing things for the wrong reasons and I guess you have to learn to live with them. Ashley is young and just starting out and I hope he learns to not be so jumpy. Once again there are a lot of great people on this list and I will try not to slag people of again, though I mentioned no names and just wanted to let of steam!

Conversly, professionalism is in direct competition with the human condition, ie laziness and the ability to make mistakes.

To succeed in this world, all you need is to make a little effort. To really succeed, you need to sustain that effort. And no-one's saying it's easy.

wow i go away for a while and miss all the fighting on the board !
Initial enthusiasm always waivers from un dedicated people and it's difficult to get people excited with a project that is your "baby" ,so to speak, but in all fairness to kathy she kept all names anonymous and we would be unaware that it was king hadnt it been for his own admission.

I personally dont think shoot dates should be changed to suit any individual person on the crew but only if maybe a location wasnt available on a certain day due to unforseen circumstances. Anybody that cant make it simply doesnt get things organised round them.
This is where experience and time take their toll......you get to know someone and know whether you like how they operate and their working methods and when it clicks you make sure you keep hold of them.

Of everyone on this board, the person whos method of working i like best is chance1234 and i'm just waiting for him to do a scottish shoot so i can offer my services and get a masterpiece wrapped up !

Just like to say I've done the first two days of filming and things are going realy well. I have an excellent team together, who work really well together. They are all such nice people- and the acting is great. Everything seems spot on- but I will have to wait until the edit to see. Leaves you feeling great and I believe if a team works well together it will show on screen. The only reason I was changing the date was to fit this person in who was experienced and enthusiastic- this messed up as Kind hadn't been clear about the dates. But that is all in the past now and we're moving onwards and upwards. Keep up the good work everyone

Am I the only one here who has a hint of cynicism about sweet little innocent Kathy?

I bet her shoots going crap but she just wants to rub Kings nose in it.... after all she does have a habit of slagging him off on a forum which she knows he's a member of!

That's a bit like talking to a group of friends about another friend who's been really shity and saying `not naming any names` but knowing all the time that the person you're talking about is in the group... and that they must be feeling really small whilst you bad mouth them infront of all their friends. Come on she must have got some power trip off that!

Wake up and smell the coffee... Kathy might not be `unprofessional` but, boy, I'm glad I'm not working with her! Nasty knives in the back.....
